How to Build a Retro Dino Terrarium

Step 1: Empty the charcoal (the black crunchy stuff) into your the base of your terrarium. The vase has no drainage, so the charcoal will absorb any access water at the bottom of your terrarium.
Step 2: Grab your beach sand and use the right amount to cover your charcoal and create a level base at the bottom of your terrarium. Smooth over with your hand or spoon and press down to compact. Take your brush and circle the edges of sand to make the line straight.
Step 3: Open your pink sand and use your spoon to put it around the edge of your terrarium. Leave a crater in the middle as this is where the soil and succulent will be going. You can put in as much as you like to create the desired thickness.
Step 4: Take the green sand and repeat step 3, creating a nice stripe on top of the previous pink layer.
Step 5: To create the drip pattern, use the back of your brush to push down into the green sand and it will fall into where you are pushing down. Repeat step 3 for the orange sand, creating another stripe on top of your green layer.
Step 6: Open up your succulent soil and spoon some into the crater of your terrarium, keeping the soil away from the edges. Create a little mountain in the middle, it needs to be about 4cm deep for your succer.
Step 7: Squeeze the pot of your succulent to loosen it and then gently pull out the succulent. Pinch the soil so it falls away from the roots, so you are left with a clump of roots and soil. Wet your soil and then dig a little hole in the middle. Push your succer into the hole, making sure all the roots are covered.
Step 8: Open up your white pebbles and completely cover the soil

Step 8: Style your terrarium your dinosaur.

To care for your new plant baby, water every 2 weeks (about 6ml) and keep in a sunny spot inside.
